LIAG-Seminar: 3D seismic morphology of a channel-floodplain system – new interpretation routine for geothermal prospects aided by attribute analysis and unsupervised machine learning

Speaker: Lorena Bello

Time: 11:00 am

This pilot study investigates the seismic morphology of the Rhaetian fluvial distributive system (RFDS), a key geothermal target in the North German Basin. Seismic amplitude, seismic attributes, and machine learning techniques, including principal component analysis (PCA) and self-organizing maps (SOM), were applied to generate seismic facies maps of the channel-floodplain system to improve the targeting of sandstone reservoirs
for geothermal exploration.

Participation is possible on site in the large meeting room of GEOZENTRUM Hannover (“Großer Sitzungssaal”) or Online via the following Webex-Linkhttps://liag.webex.com/liag/j.php?MTID=m6962bb91db07fcef8562a555139afff1

The talk will be presented in English.
