LIAG and CUG: New cooperation in the field of "cyclic sediment sequences"
The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding a longer-term cooperation between the LIAG and the China University of Geosciences in Beijing with the approval of a new application for research into cyclic sediment sequences. The exchange of Researchers on the topic "Structure and correlation of layers with cyclically repeating rock formations of the Palaeozoic" is intended to encourage the initiation of further research applications.
Both Chinese colleagues and the LIAG will collect a lot of valuable data. For the data evaluation regarding their cyclical sequences, the LIAG has the special competence in the area of relatively recent borehole data. The cooperation partners in China have special experience with rock sequences of the Palaeozoic. This project tries to combine these competences and the complementary experiences to exchange.
