IRMS stable isotope laboratory

The S3 stable isotope laboratory at LIAG analyses water samples for the isotopes deuterium and oxygen-18 for hydrological, hydrogeological and environmental research, as well as analysing carbonate samples for the isotopes carbon-13 and oxygen-18. The laboratory is equipped with a Themo Finnigan Delta XP Plus IRMS with a continuous and dual input system, as well as an H-device for hydrogen, and a GasBench for oxygen-18 and carbon-13 preparation.

All of the isotope measurements are calibrated to international standards, and the accuracy corresponds to the current state-of-the-art.
