Geoarchives allow a detailed view on climate and environments in the past. Yet, few well understood geoarchives from the Indian subcontienent are available. In this proposal we will test the suitability of aeolian sediments for reconstructing the local climate and environment in northern Pakistan.

In the field we will investigate suitable outcrops which are reported in literature. There, we will take first samples for sedimentological and rock magnetic analyses. The interpretation of measurements will allow an assessment if these deposits are suitable paleoclimatic recorders.
